Individual Recycling

You Are:

An individual looking to recycle your 3D printed waste. You don’t necessarily have to be a Standard Print Co customer nor are only Standard Print Co. materials accepted in the recycling program.

How We Can Help:

We connect you with a number of partnered organisations that either collect 3D printed waste [Organisations] or directly to Recyclers have the ability to recycle it. Our partner organisations and recyclers agree to open their doors during their opening hours and accept your clean and sorted 3D printing waste in clearly marked collection bins.

How to begin Recycling:

  1. Sort your 3D printed waste - Organise your 3D printed waste by material and drop them off in the collection bins provided at a participating organisation or recycler near you.

  2. Accept the terms and conditions - On what is and is not accepted via our recycling program.

  3. Locate a collection point near you - For our current full list of participating organisations and recyclers click here.

We Accept

  • PLA, ABS and PETG

  • Models printed in PLA, ABS and PETG

  • Support material printed in PLA, ABS and PETG

  • PLA, ABS and PETG Filament

We Don’t Accept

  • Materials other than PLA, ABS and PETG

  • Composite 3D Filaments (e.g. Woodfill PLA, Carbon Fibre PLA etc.)

  • Non-3D Printed Material

  • Containers not 3D printed in PLA, ABS and PETG

  • Composite 3D Prints - made from more than one material, 3D printable or otherwise

  • Painted 3D Prints

  • Dirty or Contaminated 3D Prints

  • Filament Spools

If you are unsure of the composition or origin of the material you are looking to recycle, please do not include it in the provided bins as it can contaminate the waste stream and may mean all of the collected material has to be diverted into landfill.

  • As a general rule, we do not recycle anything that has is not unprinted filament or has not been extruded out of a 3D printer’s nozzle.

 
 

Organisational Recycling

An organisation looking to recycle 3D printed waste.

How We Can Help:

  • Signage for Collection Bins - We provide your organisation with useful signage for your collection bins to make recycling easy to implement and ensure your waste streams stay clearly sorted. Signage can be download here.

  • Access to Local Recycling Network - We connect you with a number of partnered recycling facilities that have the ability to recycle the 3D printed waste you collect. Our recyclers agree to open their doors during their opening hours to accept your collected 3D printing waste and to process it for free.

How to begin Recycling:

Recycling Your Own 3D Printed Waste

  1. Accept the terms and conditions - Understand what is and is not accepted via our recycling program.

  2. Setup Collection Containers - Ensure your 3D printed waste is properly sorted using the signage provided.

  3. Collect - Fill up your recycling collection containers.

  4. Locate a collection point near you - For our current full list of participating recyclers click here.

  5. Drop off your materials - Once your collection containers are full, simply drop off the contents of your containers at one of our partnered recyclers during their operating hours.

Become A Collection Hub

  3. Fill your containers

    • With your organisation’s 3D printed waste

    • Open your doors during business hours to members of the community to drop off their 3D printed material in your collection containers.

  5. Drop off your materials - Once your collection containers are full, simply drop off the contents of your containers at one of our partnered recyclers during their operating hours.

An organisation looking for a free stream of 3D printed waste material that has the ability to recycle it.

How We Can Help:

  • Free stream of high quality waste material - We provide your organisation with a high quality stream of 3D printed waste plastic sorted by material.

  • Promotion of your business - By signing up as a recycler, you not only help us rid the ocean of 3D printed waste plastic but you also:

    • Promote the name of your brand and business within the 3D printing community

    • Re-enforce your brand’s commitment to environmentally sustainable practices to new and existing customers.
